Christmas Eve - 24th December
Arrive from 3pm on Christmas Eve and savour a warming glass of mulled wine by an open fire. Once you have become acquainted with your luxuriously appointed guest room why not take advantage of our onsite activities, with scheduled movies in the Abbey movie theatre and serenity walks on the estate. As afternoon becomes evening enjoy a candlelit dinner in the elegant River Room restaurant or The Pullman, draped in festive décor and later relax by the open fires with a night cap of creamy hot chocolate and mince pies served in the Ffrench room.
Christmas Day - 25th December
Christmas Daty is a magical day at Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate as Santa Claus has arrived left a gift for each of our guests. Breakfast is served in the River Room Restaurant where you can spend the morning relaxing with loved ones. That afternoon our resident pianist will play some traditional Christmas songs which can be heard throughout the Ffrench room and onto the Abbey. A traditional Christmas Banquet will then be served in the River Room Restaurant. The festivities continue with a light fork supper served that evening and a selection of Christmas movie classics screened in the Abbey Cinema. Those wishing to test their general knowledge can participate in our Christmas Quiz where there are some excellent prizes instore for the winning teams.
St. Stephens Day – 26th December
Having enjoyed Chrismas Day awaken to breakfast at Leisure on St. Stephen’s Day. Why not explore all that Galway has to offer or take a trip out towards scenic Connemara. Our 9 hole Christy O’Connor Jr. designed golf course, Glo Spa and wellness or a refreshing estate walk can all be enjoyed at your own pace. The Glenlo Christmas Tradition is continued on this day where all our guests get to enjoy a spectacular falconry display in the walled garden. There are an abundance of activities to entertain and build an appetite ahead of further indulgences.
