“Destination Wedding Ireland

We had our destination wedding at the Glenlo and it exceeded all expectations. It is a bit nerve wracking having a destination wedding at a venue you have never seen prior, but the team made it seamless! We have been to Ireland a few times, but never to the Glenlo. When we researched venues we feel in love with it online and after our initial call, there was no question about having our wedding there. They are quick to respond which is important when you are planning from far away. Also the place is so beautiful you really do not need extra decorations which makes you save money and makes your life a lot easier. The team is wonderful to work with, you made a supposedly stressful day absolutely stress free for us. Thank you!

We had our ceremony in the Abbey, dinner in the River Room and our reception in the Dangan room. It worked out perfectly! The food and drinks were wonderful. My only tip would be to ask the couple what drinks may be popular as our group drinks Jameson like water and unfortunately they ran out of Jameson before the ceremony even started. Was not a big deal as there were other options, but maybe something to do for future weddings. All in all I have not stopped raving about how amazing this venue and team are. I would get married there again ten times over and cannot wait to be back to visit so we can stay at the Glenlo again!”

“My husband and I were married at Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate and cannot be more impressed with the hotel & staff! They made sure everything was perfect from check-in to check-out. We are American so it was a little dubious planning everything from so far away but the wedding manager was very responsive and always put my mind at ease when I had 10000+ questions I needed answered. As an event planner myself it was difficult not to personally check in on every detail on our wedding day so just knowing that the events team were there put me at ease so I could enjoy myself. For any brides considering this venue- the bridal suite was large enough to comfortably get ready with my 6 bridesmaids, hair & make-up artist + photographer; if your party is larger no problem! The food was perfect, bar service superb, there is absolutely nothing I would change. Aside from our perfect wedding, Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate was fantastic, we loved having a beautiful breakfast each morning. We spent a good amount of time in the Palmer bar which had a great range of whiskeys and cocktails to choose from. We will definitely be back!!”

“From planning our special day up to checking out as newlyweds, every detail of our experience at Glenlo Abbey was exceptional. I have never felt more welcome and at ease in any hotel before. Front desk staff were extremely friendly, almost as though I was family. I was made to feel so comfortable from day 1 and no question was too silly to ask. On our day itself, well where do I begin! The team was fantastic, and really took it all in their hands and made sure the day ran smoothly! We were made feel like royalty by waiting staff, who introduced themselves by name and told us they would be looking after everything we need for the evening. The bar staff made us feel like close friends and we were able to relax and enjoy our night. Overall an absolutely amazing experience, all of my guests said it was the staff at GlenloAbbey that just made the day! They truly were the cherry on top of what was a beautiful day in a fabulous location! We cannot wait to come back again very soon!”

“We were extremely fortunate to have been able to have our wedding ceremony in the spectacular Glenlo Abbey. From the very moment we met with the events team, we knew Glenlo Abbey was everything we were looking for and more than we could have ever imagined. The events team are so professional and extremely accommodating – a dream for any couple to work with, nothing was ever a problem. We had a Spiritualist ceremony in the stunning Corrib Suite overlooking the golf course and had over 200 guests in attendance. The day was a bright but frosty and Glenlo was a winter wonderland with Christmas decorations and lights – a truly unique and magical setting for any wedding.

We have been inundated with compliments from our guests on our venue choice, claiming it was one of the nicest ceremony venues they had ever witnessed. We are so happy we chose Glenlo Abbey and would highly recommend it to all engaged couples. Not only is the function room so bright and beautiful, but the grounds are a photographer and videographer’s playground. We would like to extend our most heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all the staff at Glenlo Abbey for making our wedding day so special”.
